Dual Education

Beyond Two Places of Learning

A central element of Prof. Dr. Eichhorn’s work is the understanding of dual education as a system of connected responsibilities. Educational institutions and companies are important learning environments, but their effectiveness depends on curriculum, competence objectives, learning cooperation, qualified professionals, assessment, quality assurance and institutional responsibility.

International Work

Education Development Across Different Contexts

Prof. Dr. Eichhorn’s professional work has involved educational and institutional engagement across different countries and cultural contexts. This experience reinforces a central principle of his work: international expertise should provide perspective and possibilities, while educational development itself must remain sensitive to national institutions, professional cultures and local priorities.

Academic Engagement

Teaching, Reflection and Professional Practice

Academic work and practical education development should inform one another. Teaching creates opportunities to examine concepts critically, engage with different perspectives and connect theoretical understanding with changing professional realities.

Education & Human Capability

Competence Requires Judgement

Professional knowledge alone is not sufficient when people operate in changing and increasingly complex environments. Education should therefore strengthen not only what people know, but what they are capable of doing with that knowledge — including their ability to judge, adapt, verify, take responsibility and continue learning.

AI & the Future of Learning

Technology Expands Possibilities. Human Judgement Gives Them Direction.

Artificial intelligence can substantially expand access to information, analysis and educational support. Its educational importance lies not simply in what technology can generate, but in how education prepares people to understand, verify and use technological outputs responsibly.

Education Should Expand What People and Institutions Are Capable of Doing

For Prof. Dr. Eichhorn, sustainable education development means creating capability — in individuals, professional roles and institutions. The objective is not simply to introduce new structures, but to strengthen the ability of people and organisations to carry responsibility and continue developing them.
